15th of March 2024, at 6:00 p.m. CET 15 female artists from Ukraine will join Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation’s Secondary Archive platform within the framework of the project ‘Secondary Archive. Women Artists in War’ implemented with Artsvit Gallery, Dnipro and Labyrinth Gallery, Lublin.
On 6-7.02. a two-day conference is taking place at the ZODIAK Warsaw Architecture Pavilion together with the Architektoniczki collective. The event will focus on the analysis of inclusivity, gender equality and social exclusion in urban planning and architecture.
The Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation (Poland) in partnership with Artsvit Gallery (Ukraine) and Galeria Labirynt (Poland) held the open competition as a part of the “Secondary Archive. Women Artists in War” project, through which 5 female artists from younger generation were selected.
At the beginning of September 2023, we plan to launch the next edition of FRIENDS. The collection contains some surprises. In the meantime, we would like to remind you about the previous editions of the program, which was created in 2019.
The Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation, together with the interdisciplinary collective Architektoniczki, is currently implementing a mobility program subsidized by the European Union. The aim of the project is, among other things, to establish transnational cooperation with organizations dealing with gender issues in urban planning.
On the 18th of October 2023, the first Exploratory Night Walk in Poland took place in Warsaw. The event was organised by the Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation in collaboration with the Architektoniczki collective, thanks to funding obtained under the Miasto Otwarte project. The operator of the programme of the Capital City of Warsaw is the Inna Przestrzeń Foundation.
Agata Cieślak’s exhibition “We Were Tending to the Remains (II)” runs from the 10th of March until the 7th of May. The event inaugurates a new project of the Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation – Przeciw(stawanie). The first edition was done in cooperation with the Dzielna Foundation.
In the front window of the Warsaw Observatory of Culture there will be showing of the project “Secondary Archive: Ukrainian artists’ sound statements” that will last until 5th of March. Installation can be seen and heard from Marszałkowska 34/50 street.
On the 27th of October, 144 female artists from Albania, Kosovo, Serbia and the Visegrad Group countries – the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, will join the Secondary Archive project – a platform promoting and archiving the works of women from Central and Eastern Europe through first-person statements by female artists.
On 23rd of February, 70 artists from Ukraine and Belarus will join the Secondary Archive project – a unique initiative on a European scale that responds to the problem of the lack of visibility of women from Central and Eastern Europe in recent art history.

“Looking for Jesus” is the latest project of Katarzyna Kozyra, influenced by the, so-called, Jerusalem syndrome – an acute delusional disorder, described in medicine only in the second half of the 20th century. Those suffering from it, when visiting the Holy Land, identify themselves with biblical characters, most often with the Messiah.

Katarzyna Kozyra została laureatką 4. edycji Nagrody Filmowej Polskiego Instytutu Sztuki Filmowej, Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie oraz Szkoły Wajdy przyznanej podczas 39. Festiwalu Filmowym w Gdyni.
Malarstwo Katarzyny Rotkiewicz-Szumskiej jest ekspresyjne niezależnie od tego czy artystka porusza się na poziomie abstrakcji, czy malarstwa figuratywnego. Artystka zniekształca wizerunek kamienia, człowieka, zabawki, a jednak nie zatraca realności ich przedstawienia.
