On October 30th at 7:00 PM, the exhibition Secondary Archive: Przeciw(stawanie). Pękająca cisza ciałem will open at Turnus.
The exhibition Przeciw(stawanie). Pękająca cisza ciałem focuses on the body as a place where personal and political experiences intersect. Where intimacy is not private, and a story about oneself always carries traces of external structures: violence, norms, exclusion. But also care, tenderness, and community.
The artists invited to the project work with performance, installation, sound, and video. Their works breathe—literally. Breath, voice, sweat, mud, brick, skin, fabric—these materials and substances create a sensory map of resistance.
Structures resembling ruins emerge: a bonfire from a past community, a wall separating, a scar from a battle endured. These are figures of ambivalence—they are at once a form of shelter and a sign of loss.
An important theme of the exhibition is community. Breathing together, reading, listening to one another—these are forms of resistance to isolation. The works align with a relational understanding of performance, where the presence of another—physical or imagined—gives meaning. Resistance is not always loud. Sometimes it comes as a whisper.
