Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation is pleased to invite photographers to apply for a photographic documentation workshop of contemporary art conducted by the prominent art photographer Ela Białkowska, one of the most famous in her field in Italy, well known for cooperation with artists such as Ai WeiWei, Kiki Smith, Anish Kapoor and institutions as MAXXI Museum in Rome and Fondazione Prada in Milan. www.oknostudiophotography.com
The master course is dedicated both to photographers interested in improving their skills and gaining experience in niche specialisation of art documentation and photography students as well as related fields (intermedia, media art) that would like to master professional abilities in this field. The workshops will consist of both theoretical and practical elements, while at the same time addressing the crucial issues of the relation between artist, curator and the photographer. The course emphasis the diversity of genres in artistic works and the manner of the documentation. In particular focuses on reproductions of art works, exhibitions, documentation of performances, as well as works that are nearly impossible to be photographed.
Ela Białkowska will focus on the individual needs of each participant and provide guidance through the creation and the editing process. This will be a hands-on workshop with shooting sessions, individual assignments, daily group lessons, discussions and editing sessions.

Division of the National Museum in Warsaw.
Day 2: 15/09/2020
Masterclass session – architecture
Place: POLIN Museum of the History of the Polish Jews.
Day 3: 16/09/2020
Course on building relation between artist, curator and the photographer.
Masterclass session – video installation
Place: “Crack Up – Crack Down” exhibition at Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art.
Day 4: 17/09/2020
Masterclass session – sculpture and installation
Place: “Monika Sosnowska” exhibition at Zachęta – National Gallery of Art.
Day 5: 18/09/2020
Masterclass session – performance
Place: Center in Motion, individual rehearsals of performances of Weronika Pelczynska and Agnieszka Kryst.
Day 6: 19/09/2020
Masterclass session – postproduction
Place: Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation
The course is limited to 15 people and applicants will be accepted in order of submission.
